Dr. Jane Robertson
The Jane Durant Robertson Scholarship was endowed by Miss Ernestine Hooper in honor od Dr. Jane Robertson for Dr. Robertson’s contributions to the field of education.
Dr. Robertson taught for thirty-nine years at all levels—pre-school through college. Her undergraduate degree is from The Texas Women’s University and the master and doctorate from The University of Alabama. Dr. Robertson is retired from The University of Alabama and Stephen F. Austin. Her professional field was kinesiology with specialization in motor skill development and adapted physical education.
Dr. Robertson was an active leader in numerous professional organizations at the national, district, and state levels. For many years she was a volunteer and consultant for the Special Olympics and was presented the Johnny “Lam” Jones Spirit of Special Olympics Award in 1993.
