Dr. Philip T. Reynolds
Dr. Philip Taylor Reynolds graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stephen F. Austin State University in the summer of 1983 where he received his degree in Pre-Professional Medicine, with a major focus on Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He was a member of the SFA Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society, and the Alpha Chi Honor Society. He was a yearly member of the Dean’s Honor Roll and President’s List. Dr. Reynolds was the recipient of the SFA Excellence in Physics Honor Award in 1980 and the Nacogdoches Booster Club Honor Student award in 1981. He has been a Lifetime SFA Alumni Association Member since 1986, and is a yearly SFA Athletic Booster Club Member and contributor to the SFA Department of Fine Arts and Theater.
Dr. Reynolds attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in June of 1986. He was the recipient of the 1986 University of Texas Dental Branch Alumni Association Award, and was the winner of the 1986 University of Texas Houston Dental Branch Table Clinic Award for his presentation of the clinic “Gold Foil Excellence in Dentistry.” He was a member of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity and graduated in the top 10% of his dental class. He received the 1986 Texas Dental Association Clinic Award and was the sole recipient of the 1986 Gold Foil Operator’s Award presented by the Houston Academy of Gold Foil Operators in recognition of excellence in the field of Gold Foil placement, a lost and dying art. Dr. Reynolds has been a lifetime member of the University of Texas Dental School Alumni Association since his graduation in June of 1986.
After graduation from The University of Texas Dental Branch in 1986, Dr. Reynolds relocated to Center, Texas where he opened Philip T. Reynolds, DDS General and Cosmetic Dentistry. In January of 1995 Dr. Reynolds moved to Plano, Texas to begin serving as the Director of the Plano branch of Monarch Dental Associates where he remained until February of 1998 at which time he returned to Center, Texas to open “Just Phil’n In”, a company dedicated to caring for dentists in need. During this time he served as an instructor at the Tyler Junior College School of Dental Hygiene.
In February of 2010, Dr. Reynolds opened Center Smiles of East Texas on the old downtown square in Center where he currently provides dental care for all, with a focus on economically disadvantaged children and older adults. He is on staff at East Texas Medical Center Hospital in Carthage, Texas where he provides surgical care for disadvantaged children on a weekly basis.
Dr. Reynolds has been on over a dozen international mission trips providing badly needed oral surgical care for those who are less fortunate and building houses for widowed mothers. He is a member of the Piney Woods Dental Study Club in Nacogdoches, as well as the East Texas Dental Society, The Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He is a yearly benefactor and financial contributor to The Strand Theater in Shreveport, LA.
When not working at Center Smiles, Dr. Reynolds enjoys spending time with his six children, as well as training for and running marathons. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Center, Texas.

The Philip T. Reynolds DDS Scholarship benefits Biology students with a pre-dental focus. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be a U.S. citizen.
