Mr. and Mrs. Jim Snyder

Jim and Sandy Snyder have been associated with Stephen F. Austin State University for many years. Jim taught in the Art Department for 37 years and Sandy studied at S.F.A. Snyder came here from Utah State University where he received an MFA in Art, with a combination of four majors in Advertising, Ceramics, Photography, and Painting. Sandy designs and creates jewelry. Knowing the importance of an education as well as the expense involved prompted the Snyders to set up a scholarship fund to benefit future art students at SFA. Their son, Derek, graduated from SFA with a BFA in Art (computer graphics) and then obtained a Master’s in Management. They also have a daughter, Sasha, who graduated from Southern Arkansas University with her Bachelor’s degree, and then from SFA with a Master’s in Sports Medicine. They also have 3 grandchildren: Sloane and James Robert Kubacak, and Arden Elizabeth Snyder.
