Mr. McNeil Moore

A native of Center, Bonnie graduated from Center High School in 1949. She enrolled at SFA and was a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society. In 1952, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in business education. She taught in the Shelbyville Independent School District for 23 years. She earned a master’s degree in education from SFA in 1979.
She and McNeil married in 1953 and lived in Huntsville, Fort Lewis, Washing., and Chicago, Ill., before returning to Center in 1958. The Moores have two daughters, Karen and Kathy, and four grandchildren. Kathy is a 1990 SFA graduate in business education, and granddaughter Anne received her elementary education degree from SFA in 2006.
Karen and her husband Bob live in Longview where she volunteers at the Buckner Mission Center and he is an attorney. Kathy and her husband Jim live in Center where she teaches business at Center High School, and he is an officer at Shelby Savings Bank.
Bonnie lost her battle with cancer on August 24, 2006.

Impact

The Bonnie and McNeil Moore Business Education Scholarship will benefit students who major in general business with a secondary education certificate. Priority will be given to students from Shelby County.
