Mr. Rick Couvillon

Kevin Wade Bass was born on 17 October 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Kevin graduated from Jasper High School in 1977. He enrolled at Stephen F Austin State University in the Fall of 1977, and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He immediately went to work for Amoco Production Company, later BP and rose to the position of US Natural Gas Trading Manager, until his untimely death in June 2009 at the age of 49. Kevin was also a successful entrepreneur having started several business enterprises while at the same time raising two daughters, Kristen and Kelly.

Rick Couvillon was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on 11 November 1963. He graduated from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in May 1981. At Stephen F. Austin State University, Rick studied Biology and Chemistry, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in May 1985. While at Stephen F. Austin, Rick was an active member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Rick continued his studies at Southern Methodist University, where he obtained his Masters of Business Administration in 1987. Upon his graduation from SMU, Rick went to work in the Oil and Gas business with Amoco Production Company, working 6 years in Argentina, Bolivia, and Brazil before returning to Houston where he is currently employed with ConocoPhillips Company as Director, Natural Gas Origination. Rick resides in Houston, with his two daughters Lauren and Sarah.

This scholarship benefits a student who graduated from Jasper High School in Jasper, TX; Strake Jesuit College Preparatory In Houston, TX; or St. Agnes Academy in Houston, TX with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
