Mrs. Jan Randall
This scholarship honors Mrs. Jan Randall and the late Javan Randall of Nacogdoches, TX. Javan Randall graduated from SFA in 1955 after majoring in biology and agriculture and minoring in chemistry. He married Jan in the same year. The couple moved to Houston where Randall worked as a chemist for May Aluminum. He was later employed at Proler Steel as manager of the secondary refining of aluminum alloys in the metal chemistry division. They moved to Los Angeles, Ca where Randall worked for Luri Brothers for three years, then to Alexandra, La where he was supervisor of Oil Field Scrap. The Randalls returned to Nacogdoches where they raised chickens and also began The Grandma and Grampa Christian Fellowship. They had Bible studies at their home on Tuesday nights and fed 40 to 70 students each week. “We once entertained 500 students with brisket and a service at the Chicken Chapel, what the students called the chicken house,” he said. “Over the years, we have had several thousand students at our house, and we give all the praise to Jesus, who supplies our needs.”Impact
The Grandma and Grampa Christian Fellowship Scholarship will benefit students who are members of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
