Mrs. Margaret Kilgo

A native of Waco, Lang attended Robert E. Lee High School in Houston and enrolled at SFA. He graduated with honors from SFA in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science.
A skilled computer programmer and innovative software developer, Lang worked as an application programmer for Texaco in Houston after graduation for six years. He returned to SFA in 1980 as its director of technology and remained with the university for 17 years. In 1998, he formed LCS Development Group, a software development firm in Nacogdoches. He also was co-founder of KLT Internet Educational Solutions/OASIS, Inc. with his sister Margaret Kilgo. At the time of his death, Lang was president of both companies.
Lang was married to Audrey Suttles Lang, a 1981 and 1983 SFA graduate. The couple had two children- Katherine Reta of Nacogdoches and Russell Bennett of Austin.
Lang was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Jaycees, Ducks Unlimited, American Kennel Club, United Kennel Club, and the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society in Computer Sciences.
He died at age 52 in July 2004 after battling cancer.

Impact

The Morris A. Lang Jr. Memorial Scholarship will benefit computer science students who major in software programming. Recipients must maintain an overall 3.0 GPA.
