Ms. Peggy Compton
The Myrtle J. Moore Compton Nursing Scholarship was established in 1983 by friends and family to honor the memory of Myrtle Jean Moore Compton.
Mrs. Compton was born in 1929 in Nacogdoches, lived her life in the city and was a member of the First Christian Church. She married Claude Kenneth Compton in 1953. A registered nurse, Mrs. Compton was associated with Memorial Hospital in various capacities for a number of years.
Impact
The Myrtle Jean Moore Compton Memorial Nursing Scholarship benefits students classified as a sophomore or above majoring in nursing. Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
